Gaining in popularity, infographics take advantage of the fact that visuals are processed by the brain 60,000 times faster than text. For alumni associations, incorporating these graphics into their alumni outreach helps share data without overwhelming readers, providing an at-a-glance overview of their alma mater’s programs, initiatives and achievements. Schools incorporate infographics into direct mail pieces (e.g., a post card), email, alumni websites, campaign progress updates and other forms of communication. From our alumni websites review, common graphics highlight giving day results, fiscal years in review, Giving Tuesday participation and alumni demographics. This brief showcases five infographics from universities within the Alumni Monitor coverage group: Boston, Columbia, Duke, Indiana and Ohio State.
